Transport modes

Three ways to move a part. We choose the right one.

Every shipment goes by the most suitable mode for its size, its urgency and your vessel's schedule. You tell us when it has to be on board; we decide how it gets there.

Express courier

1–4 days

Door-to-door international express networks such as DHL, FedEx or UPS, with our clearance and delivery at the port end.

Best for small, urgent parts up to about 70 kg.
Express and air rate card

Air freight

2–6 days

Consolidated or direct air cargo through our forwarding partners, for spares that are too large for courier but still urgent.

Best for heavier or bulky spares that cannot wait.
Express and air rate card

Sea freight

2–8 weeks

Shared container (LCL) or full container (FCL) for planned deliveries, timed to the vessel's port calls.

Best for heavy stores, overhaul kits and pallets.
Sea freight rate card

Courier or air freight, the price is the same. Both share one rate card, so the mode we choose never changes what you pay. Sea freight has its own lower rate card and is used only when your vessel's schedule allows the longer transit, with your approval.
Rate cards

Two rate cards. Every charge included.

One fixed price per shipment to one vessel, set by chargeable weight. Pickup, packing, export, freight, import, handling and delivery on board are all in it.

Clearance

Cleared at both ends, inside the price.

Customs is where most spares get stuck and most surprise charges appear. We handle both sides of the border so the part arrives on board, not in a warehouse.

At origin

From the supplier's door to departure.

  • Pickup from any supplier or warehouse
  • Packing and marking for vessel delivery
  • Commercial invoice and packing list checked
  • Export declaration filed
  • Air waybill or bill of lading issued

At destination

From arrival to the vessel's deck.

  • Import or ships-spares-in-transit clearance
  • Terminal handling and storage until the vessel is ready
  • Delivery order and port gate pass
  • Truck to berth or launch boat to anchorage
  • Delivery receipt signed on board

Where a country charges duty or tax on the goods themselves, we tell you before pickup.

Questions

Cargo questions.

Have an unusual shipment? Send the details and our desk will quote it the same day.

Message the desk
Do you use courier, air freight or sea freight?

Whichever suits the shipment. Small urgent parts usually go by international express couriers such as DHL, FedEx or UPS, larger spares by air freight, and heavy or planned consignments by sea. Courier and air share one rate card, so our choice never changes your price. Sea freight has its own lower rate card and is used with your approval.

How is the weight band decided?

By chargeable weight across all boxes going to one vessel in one shipment. For express and air it is the actual weight or length × width × height in cm ÷ 6,000, whichever is higher. For sea freight it is the actual weight or the volume, with 1 m³ counted as 1,000 kg.

Is customs clearance really included?

Yes. Export documents and clearance at origin, and import or ships-spares-in-transit clearance at destination, are part of the price. Where a country charges duty or tax on the goods themselves, we tell you before pickup.

What is not covered by the standard rates?

Dangerous goods such as chemicals, batteries and gases, oversized single pieces and deliveries to remote or offshore positions. These receive a fixed written quote before pickup, so there are still no surprises.

How does the crew change bundle work?

When a shipment is delivered to the same vessel and port together with one of our crew changes, the cargo rate is 15% lower, because both share the transfer, the port agent and the launch boat.

Is the cargo insured?

Carrier liability applies as standard. Cargo insurance for the full value can be added on request; tell us the value in your order and we include it in the confirmation.

How is invoicing handled?

Shipments appear on the same consolidated monthly invoice as your crew changes, each line tied to vessel, contents and reference. No forwarder or customs invoices are passed on to you.
